Behind the Lens

After two years of walking (and running) alongside us as a freelancer, we’re beyond proud to officially welcome Petra into the Beyond Running team.
His visuals have shaped the way many of you see us. But who is the person behind the lens? We sat down with him to learn more than just the "how", we asked about the "why."

“I’m not doing this halfway. I’m going all in.”
“Visual is everything to me.”
Even before picking up a camera, Petra saw life in frames. “Ever since I was a kid, I was always drawn to beautiful imagery. Wherever my eyes look, there’s always something worth capturing,” he shared. His love for colors and visuals that pull people in has guided his creative journey from the start.

Sport, Process, and Empathy
When asked what brought him to Beyond Running, his answer wasn’t just about career steps. It's also about the culture.
“I grew up in the scene: collectives, biking, running. I love how sport reveals hardship, how it shows someone’s process. It’s raw and real. That’s what I find beautiful.”
That’s also what makes his visuals feel so human. His lens doesn’t just capture motion, it captures meaning.
“I like visuals that are down to earth, organic, but with a clear message. And being with Beyond felt like finally finding an outlet I never knew I needed. There's guidance here, but also freedom. We share the same vision.”
Life Beyond the Field
When he’s not chasing runners with a camera, he’s likely in the kitchen.
“I love cooking. Tumis-tumisan especially,” he laughs. “I enjoy the process: shopping, prepping, learning about each ingredient. It reminds me of life. It’s about care and attention. It might not taste perfect, but I’ve improved along the way.

If Beyond Were a Color…
“Blue and green,” he said without hesitation.
“Blue feels like a river. It flows freely, but it has a direction. A purpose. A destination.
Green feels like a forest— Everyone in the world needs it. It gives life.”
We’re so excited to keep growing, capturing, and moving forward—together. Welcome to the team, Petra. Full-time, all in.
